Ross has been focused on the energy services and equipment industry for his entire career. He was most recently a principal with a boutique, energy service focused, private equity fund named OFS Energy Fund. Ross left private equity to focus on the development of a unique energy focused private capital fund with the flexibility to make non-control investments of debt and equity, Derby Capital. While in private equity, Ross served on the boards of various private energy service companies, sourced and executed new platform and portfolio investments.
Prior to OFS, Ross was an Executive Vice President and founding management member of Cadence Bank, a regional middle market lender focused on the Southeastern US. While with Cadence, he founded the energy lending group and directed the Bank’s alternative investment activities. In three years with Cadence, Ross grew the energy services portfolio to ~$500mm. Cadence has never lost money on any of those exposures.
Prior to joining Cadence, Ross held a variety of roles over twelve years with Amegy Bank (fka Southwest Bank of Texas), where he co-founded Amegy’s energy services lending group. While with Amegy, Ross executed several billion dollars of middle market energy service financings including buyouts, recapitalizations, mergers, acquisitions, capital expansions, and project financings. At the time of Ross’s departure from Amegy the portfolio was in excess of $1.0 billion.
